A currently untitled iCarly film is an upcoming movie, following the 2023 cancellation of the revival series. Lead actress Miranda Cosgrove has expressed her hopes about a finale special happening several times.
The film will be streamed on Netflix.[3]
It was reported in August of 2025, that the film was in the process of being written .[4][5] A day later, Ali Schouter, revealed she was one of the writers for the movie as she had previously worked on the revival series.[1]
In September 2025, Miranda Cosgrove revealed the script was almost complete and filming would begin in early 2026.[6][7] Later in the month, Miranda Cosgrove confirmed that filming would begin in early 2026 and seemingly said the production company is Netflix.[2]

2024[]
May[]
- In May 2024, Cosgrove suggested that a film could be a great way to wrap up the revival's cliffhanger ending. [9]
June & July[]
- In June 2024, Miranda Cosgrove said that an iCarly movie would hopefully happen soon.[10]
- Later in the month, Miranda Cosgrove said there is a good chance of a movie happening to wrap up the series.[11]
- In July 2024, it was reported that Miranda Cosgrove believed strongly that the movie would happen.[12]
November & December[]
- In November 2024, Miranda Cosgrove finally hinted that a new project to wrap up the revival series was in the works. She also mentioned that old characters will also return. [13][14]
- On December 7th, while at a convention, Nathan Kress mentioned that they were in the process of developing storylines for the film. He also said that the movie would be filmed with a single camera setup without a laugh track, which will give the movie a more serious feel, especially with the Mrs. Shay storyline.[15]
- This would be similar to how how Drake & Josh Go Hollywood and Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh also made the jump from a sitcom to a movie format.
- Nathan voice texted Miranda that the fans wanted her to sing in the film.[16]
2025[]
March & April[]
- On March 30, 2025, it was reported that Jerry Trainor revealed he had mentioned "big future projects" coming at a fan convention. While it is not certain, it could hint the iCarly movie.[17]
- On April 10, 2025, Jaidyn Triplett reposted a Paramount Plus and Nickelodeon Family collaboration post on her story. It was an image of the revival set with the caption "not my house, but I know my way around", implying something was happening.[18]
- On April 25th, Nathan Kress revealed that although he couldn't confirm anything, the idea of finishing the story was "still not dead", and the team were still doing what they could to get a movie to officially happen.[19]
- On April 29th, a video showed Nathan at Nostalgia Con voice messaging Miranda Cosgrove, where he mentions to her that one of the fans requested that she would sing in the film if they were to do one.[20]
June & July[]
- On June 7th, Nathan Kress revealed in an interview with fans that there was still no specific update to share, but they had made progress. However, the movie had not been greenlit, but hoped that something would be revealed in September.[21]
- On July 22, Paramount+ Canada promoted Creddie and responded with "What a ship name" when a fan commented that they wanted a wedding between the couple.[22][23]
August & September[]
- On August 7th, Miranda Cosgrove revealed that the film was being written and expressed her excitement for the film to be happening.[4]
- The following day, on August 8th, Ali Schouter, who worked on the revival series, revealed she was returning to write for the film.[1]
- On the same day, Jeremy Rowley posted about the movie happening by sharing a post on his Instagram that stated that Miranda revealed the movie was happening, implying he would return as Lewbert Sline.[8]

- On August 26th, Jerry Trainor said he, Miranda and Nathan want to do the movie and even said Paramount+ want to do it.[26]
- On September 9th, Jerry Trainor implied that Carly and Freddie will get married in the film. Also, while he couldn't confirm anything, he kept winking, hinting towards the project.[27]
- On September 12th, Miranda Cosgrove revealed that the script was almost complete and filming would begin in early 2026.[6][7]
- On September 15th, ScreenRant posted what Miranda revealed about the film, again stating filming would begin in early 2026.[28]

- Miranda Cosgrove also mentioned that the film will be a lot about where Mrs. Shay has been and why she hasn't been in Carly and Spencer's lives. She also said the role had not been cast yet and it will focus a lot on where the characters grew up.[30]
- On September 24th, Miranda Cosgrove spoke with Drew Barymore and confirmed that filming begins in early 2026, and seemingly also confirmed that the film will be a Netflix release.[2][3]
- Around September 27th, Nathan revealed that the film had not been greenlit and promised a satisfying ending that does not involve another cliffhanger.[31]

- Around October 10th, Jerry Trainor mentioned that the film had still not been greenlit, but the film was in the development stage and he had high hopes.[32]

- This will be the third iCarly movie after iGo to Japan and iParty With Victorious, although those are considered television films.
