Hey guys, I wanted to propose giving bureaucrats the ability to add bot flags to accounts. Right now only staff can do so and I want to be able to turn bot flags on and off locally so I can perform large maintenance jobs without flooding/blanking the activity page, as had happened before. Staff said they're open to granting this as long as we discuss it. Please comment below with your support. Thank you.
Hey guys, this is just a notice that I won't be as active as I normally am since I need to send my laptop in to be repaired. I'll still have internet access, it just won't be as frequent as normal. I'll still try to log in every day. This should last 7 to 10 days. Feel free to let me know about any issues. It just might take longer than normal.
Hey guys. suggested I adopt this wiki to gain bureaucrat rights since we don't have an active bureaucrat right now. I've been an admin here since February and I think having a bureaucrat who's active would make this place more efficient if/when rights changes need to be made. I've spent many hours clearing this wiki of spam, blocking trolls/vandals, etc. I'd like to ask for your support to gain bureaucrat rights from staff. Please comment below to show your support. Thank you.
Hello iCarly wikians. Just letting you know I'm an admin now. Thanks to Alica for promoting me. Let me know if you need help.
Hello guys and gals, it's me.
So, as I found out moments ago, I was "crowned" an admin and I made this blog at the request of Devon. Ummm, normally, for someone other in my place, a long speech would be expected (as if I would earn a Nobel/Oscar/Pulitzer etc prize). You can see how it all started here http://icarly.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:577758#3
All I have to say is thanks a ton to Devon and Alica for trusting me that much, I am greatly honored by this and I will try my best to be worthy of that. And it goes without saying that I'll try to help everyone who requires my help or wants to ask me something as best I can.
To conclude this, I hope everyone's doing fine (in real life of course) and I'll be glad to see each and every one of you aroun…
We wanted to let you know that in order to comply with federal law, Wikia is reviewing the way it handles communities that may be considered directed to people 12 years of age or younger.
This wiki has been flagged as falling into that category, and I wanted to let you know about it. While I am sure iCarly has many fans of all ages, it can also be especially appealing to the younger demographic for purposes of the newly revised Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
The only change you will notice is that we will be turning anonymous editing and commenting off for wikis in this category. Your users will still be able to edit and participate. They just need to make sure that they are logged in first. We hope the impact on yo…
Edit: It's working fine now. If anyone has any technical
or user issues. Please don't hesitate to let me know, so it will be
handled by either myself or wiki staff :)
I've been having this problem with Message Walls today where I can't post a new message or reply to one with certain users. The buttons that allow users to post it aren't working properly. It's not an issue of letting it load because I've waited a good amount of time for it to load, and it's not working. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? Please comment and let me know.
Well, with iCarly's final episode being filmed right now, I thought it's time to think a little about the time on the wiki here.
I'm FAR from perfect in how I did what I did, but I might have made some experiences and mistakes that could be of some use for future wikis or similar things.
I consider this list kind of as "tips that could be useful when taking care of a wiki". You can just read it and take whatever pieces of advice you consider useful if you ever take responsibility for one.
Since my work schedule probably won't change to part-time anytime soon, I don't think I will take any rank on a wiki again (and I definitely won't take responsibility for a wiki about one of Dan's shows again; don't like his behavior). So, I'm kind of trying…
It has just been brought to my attention by Omgitisme in this message that there was a recent vandalism on the Victorious, concerning the Bade page. This vandalism was so bad, wiki staff is having trouble recovering the data, which leads me to this poll.
Keep in mind that once a page is protected only admins can edit
it and the page would be protected after tonight's episode. Also
remember if you see someone vandalize a page. Report it by
messaging an admin and if you can please try undoing that person's
edit, after reporting it.
Well, it's finally happened. An iCarly Wiki admin is leaving the wiki.
There were false alarms, and there were April Fools' Day Jokes.
BUT...I am by no means leaving forever.
I am going to a three week summer camp next month (well, the official term is "gifted education program", but I prefer to think of it as a summer camp...or summer school ), and I won't have access to a computer for a lot of it. Rather than get on a computer during free time, I decided it was better that I just not go on at all. So I will be offline for about three weeks.
I am not leaving due to drama or due to dying of cancer, I am leaving because of scheduling.
(bet you didn't see that coming, huh?)
